We truly can’t say this enough.
A heartfelt thank you to Fox 10 News for helping share this important message ahead of the Fourth of July, and to Roxie from One Love Arizona for making her television debut while reminding everyone that she’s still looking for a family of her own.
Every Fourth of July, thousands of frightened pets go missing. Fireworks, celebrations, and unfamiliar noises can cause even the calmest pets to panic. In fact, July 5 is one of the busiest intake days of the year for animal shelters, and our shelters are already stretched thin during the busy summer months.
Before the fireworks begin, take a few minutes to prepare:
♦ Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current ID tags.
♦ Verify that your pet’s microchip information is up to date.
♦ If your pet experiences anxiety during fireworks, talk to your veterinarian about ways to help keep them calm.
♦ Keep pets safely indoors during celebrations and create a quiet, comfortable space where they can feel secure.
A few minutes of preparation today can make all the difference tomorrow.
Together, we can keep more pets safe at home with their families and out of already overcrowded shelters this holiday weekend.
And if you’re looking to add a furry family member after the holiday, don’t forget that Roxie is available for adoption through One Love Arizona.
