Village Dogs Are Making Headlines

KTAR’s feature on our Village Dogs pilot program sparked an incredible response from the community. Seeing so many people read the story, share it with friends and family, and engage with the program has been exciting to watch.

That kind of support means more than just likes and shares. Every conversation helps introduce more people to the adoptable Village Dogs waiting for homes while raising awareness about the work happening at Heidi’s Village every day. The more people who know about Village Dogs, the more opportunities these deserving dogs have to find the families they’ve been waiting for.

We’re grateful to KTAR for helping tell the story of Village Dogs and to everyone who has helped spread the word.

What a difference a week can make. Last week, we introduced this sweet face in our email in hopes that the right family would see him. Today, we’re thrilled to share that he has been adopted and is settling into his forever home. Thank you to everyone who follows along, shares our animals, and helps make happy endings like this possible.

We had the opportunity to visit Carrington College to share all things Heidi’s Village with future Veterinary Assistants—and we had the best time!

We talked about our lifesaving programs, career opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and, of course, our adoptable Village Dogs. It was a great chance to give students a closer look at what makes Heidi’s Village such a unique place in Arizona’s animal welfare community.

Hot Pocket definitely understood the assignment. He happily greeted students, soaked up all the attention, and stole everyone’s hearts along the way.

We love having the opportunity to share what we do, why this work matters, and the many ways people can get involved. We hope to see some of these students volunteering, interning, or even joining the Heidi’s Village team in the future!

Thank you, Carrington College, for inviting us—we loved spending the time with you!

Hot Pocket is available for adoption at Heidi’s Village! To learn more about him, visit us online at heidisvillage.org/adopt or during our regular hours:
