About Heidi's Village
Changing Lives, One Paw at a Time
How We Help
While Heidi’s Village was born in 2020, the idea was conceived years prior by our founder, Ginny Jontes, through her enduring support of the animal welfare community. In doing so, she learned the greatest need in the rescue community was an affordable place to house, heal, and promote the many animals these organizations save. Most rescue organizations are foster based, lack facilities, and have limited resources, yet have an abundance of passion and commitment. They know they cannot save them all, but they know they can save more, and Heidi’s Village was envisioned to help them do so.
Heidi’s Village is an innovative approach to animal welfare, bringing together an incredible cross section of knowledge and skill capable of uniting the animal welfare community, and inspiring the innovation, advocacy and change necessary to find a home for every pet. Every donation we receive supports up to 100 local organizations by significantly subsidizing the cost of valuable space and services, from boarding and medical, to education and outreach.
House
Running a rescue organization with limited resources is no easy task. Owning, renting, or maintaining a facility—and the staff to run it—is expensive and exhausting.
You could spend countless hours managing animals across dozens of homes or tens of thousands of dollars each month on staff, facilities, and administration. Or—you could have one place that provides affordable, safe housing, an on-site veterinary clinic, and invaluable behavioral insights to help match each pet with the perfect home.
That’s Heidi’s Village.
Heal
The rising cost of veterinary care, coupled with the trend of practice consolidation, makes it harder than ever for rescue organizations to access quality, affordable treatment.
At Heidi’s Village, we bridge this gap. Our state-of-the-art facility and highly trained clinicians provide general-practice-level care at rescue-friendly prices.
Heal
Tiny but mighty, just like Heidi’s Village Smitten Kitten Nursery. As one of only a few neonate nurseries in the Valley—and the only one that maintains full capacity 365 days a year—we are always ready when the tiniest lives need us most.
Thanks to our generous donors, we rescue hundreds of “itty bitty kitties” each year, giving them the care they need to graduate to Meow Motel, where they stay until they find their forever home.
Promote
At Heidi’s Village, we know it takes a Village to create meaningful change. As leaders in animal welfare, we take an inclusive, nonjudgmental, and innovative approach—building partnerships that connect human and animal needs and unify our community.
- Support rescue organizations with knowledge and resources to maximize impact.
- Educate children on compassion and animal welfare.
- Engage the public in responsible pet ownership and shelter prevention.

Where We Started
From blueprint to reality, Heidi’s Village was built with one mission in mind—saving and improving the lives of vulnerable animals. Spanning five acres with nine state-of-the-art buildings, our campus includes a veterinary clinic, neonate kitten nursery, training and grooming rooms, and a boarding facility designed to support rescue organizations. Opening in 2020, Heidi’s Village stands as a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together for animal welfare. Watch our journey from construction to the lifesaving work we do today!
